KFA Certificate - Teaching Fitness through Movement & Dance to Adults
This course run in Partnership with Essex Adult Community Learning
offers progression to a full NVQ at Level 3
Experience Day - July 19th - Time 9.30. - 1.00pm
A further Experience day will be held on August 30th - Time 9.30 - 1.00pm
The fee for the experience days is £25.00 (reimbursed if you join the course)
Course starts 27th September 2008
Venue - Pitsea Mount Community Hall, Brackendale Avenue, Pitsea, SS13 3BD
Cost - £450.00 payable in 2 instalments + £110.00 Registration Fee
payable to the Exercise Movement & Dance Partnership

So are you wondering – What counts? What doesn't? What is a Non Teaching Teacher?
Sounds obvious but a Non Teaching teacher is a KFA trained teacher who is not teaching
and does not wish to pay full teacher registration fees until they want to return to teaching.
Where are your training hours recorded during this time? • They are recorded on a blue card

These hours do not fall in the Continuing Professional Development hours 3 year periods

TEACHERS	All working hours (not breaks) on KFA refresher training days/courses	Recreative sessions of any kind
	All hours of completed KFA specialist courses such as Youth Moves, Mature Moves, Apparatus, Pre/Post Natal, ETM, RNIB	Committee or Working Party meetings
	Evidence of update training for specialist disciplines (above), which must be recorded separately on an orange card
	All hours of a TAC course
	Maximum of 5 hours training with non KFA organisations, provided the training develops knowledge of topics from the current KFA syllabi (original documentary evidence to be shown)
	The one-hour Keynote speech at Concordat	Conferences other than at Concordat
	Disability Awareness Training (mandatory every six years)	If you have not attended a DA training session you may still teach but if a problem occurs you will NOT BE COVERED
	New TC teachers need 5 hours for each full year of the remaining 3-year period
TRAINERS (green card)	Advanced Trainers Course	Assessor training hours (these go on the yellow card)
	The 2-hour Trainers' Conference at Concordat
	Maximum of 5 hours of training commissions to train teachers (from lilac card – to white card)
	Maximum of 5 hours of training commissions to train trainers (from lilac card – to green card)

• Whilst a non-teaching teacher you cannot do supply/stand in teaching, take a KFA rally or produce a demonstration
• You have no insurance and cannot apply for PPL or the Register of Exercise Professionals through the KFA.
• You will be encouraged to attend regular training to make it simpler for you when you wish to return to teaching.
Returning to Registered Teacher Status
• Non Teaching teachers who have kept up NT enrolment at the current fee since stopping teaching need to show evidence of training gained
during the three years immediately prior to re-registering as follows :
Absence from teaching Evidence required -
1 year 15 hours - 2 years 20hours - 3 years or more 25 hours
All must have a current first Aid Certificate
• Non Teaching teachers who have not enrolled as NT teachers and who wish to return to teaching again – each case will need support from the Region and will be considered individually..
